Temple & Hormonal Crying

I had my first pregnant sobbing crying for no real reason today.  Here's everything that I'm saying lead up to it.  Had any circumstance been different I probably wouldn't have cried like someone punched a puppy.

First, I woke up at about 12:30 this morning (after going to bed at 10pm) and could.not.sleep.  I laid in bed being pissed that my husband would have the audacity to sleep (how dare he!) while I was not sleeping.  Finally, after 2 hours of staring at the ceiling, I got up.  I made myself a delicious and healthy lunch, wrote some sub plans, checked out Pinterest.  Finally went back to bed around 4am and woke up at 6am.  I was already feeling weepy and the day had just begun.

After work, Jenny went through the temple for the first time.  I am so stoked for her.  For obvious reasons this also made me a little emotional but the tears remained inside my face...for the moment.

We went outside for some pictures of Jenny's special day.  As we were leaving, someone stepped on my toe.  It killed.  But I held all those built up tears in and then I was fine.

I get to my car and notice a small piece of paper tucked into my door.  I grab it and hop in the car.  After I finally get situated (which takes a really long time as a pregnant lady) I read the note.  Here it is:

I looked at all my windows (which were filthy when I went into the temple) and realized they were all spotless...and I completely lost it.  Sobbing.  Crocodile tears. I couldn't see.  I cried for a good 2 minutes then spent the rest of the drive home trying to compose myself.

Holy cow, hormones.  Dial it back a notch.  I'm officially crazy lady pregnant.

Friend Baby Shower

Today, my friends Meredith, Jenny & Jaynee threw me a baby shower.  It was a lot of fun and we were spoiled.

We played a game where you couldn't say "baby" or "cute."  I lost in about 2.5 seconds.  During presents, there were a lot of comments like, "Gee that sure is niiice."  "That will be so darling on your tiny human."

Then we played Guess the Melted Candy That Looks Like Poop.  I also lost at that one.  I'm usually so good at shower games.  I'm blaming the pregnancy on my inability to out shower game all my guests.

 Present time!

I'm apparently really excited about this tissue paper.

Amanda made this cute onesie.  I can't wait to put it on Baby H.!

My belly at 33.5 weeks.
There were other people at my shower, we just were not the best photographers.  Thanks to everyone who came and made the day awesome!

Hospital Survival Kit

Like I said before, there will be many babies joining our group this year.

Jenny had her baby shower today.  Since she lives in Colorado, she had this shower quite early in her pregnancy and hadn't registered yet.  So I did a hospital survival kit.  I originally saw the idea here.

Here is my version:

Here's what I put in mine:
  • Hand sanitizer
  • Lotion
  • Chocolate
  • Luna bars
  • Fuzzy socks with gripper bottoms
  • Fruit snacks
  • Face wipes
  • Tissues
  • Gum
  • Mints
  • Chapstick
  • Brush
  • Headbands
  • Hair ties
Not having had my baby yet, I'm going to assume these things will be helpful while in the hospital.

Pregnant Bowling

Being pregnant makes me suck at a lot of things like sleeping, bending over, tying my own shoes, walking, not being swollen.  You get the picture.

One thing pregnancy doesn't make me suck at?  Bowling.  Pregnant me is a fabulous bowler.

Proof:

That's twice in a row.  I know I didn't waste Husband like last time but 120...that's pretty awesome for me.

2011, the Year of the Wedding...2012, the Year of the...

BABY!

Our group of friends will have 4 babies in 2012...one in March, one in September (woot Baby H!), one in November and one in December.  Oh my heck!  I'm so excited for all the babies!  Baby H is going to have so many cute little friends.

Year of the Baby, I have a feeling it's going to be a good one.

Trifecta Rings

Once upon a time three boys like the trifecta so much they each put a ring on it.

So I wore all of them.

The real reason for this post is that Jenny got engaged today!  Woot!
This picture is really blurry...I struggle.
I'm so excited for Jenny and Jameson's wedding!  Hopefully Baby H. comes before or after the wedding day!

Festival of Colors

We went to the Festival of Colors today.  It was super fun.  That's all I have to say about it though.

Friend Quote Book

I decided to try to organize my house after I saw this lovely post on Pinterest.  As I was doing the January 4th to do, I found it...something we've been searching for...something we've missed dearly.  My friends, I found the Quote Book.

Instead of  continuing to declutter the top shelf of the closest, I read through the book.  Man!  The funny (semi-inappropriate and mostly dirty sounding) things people say out of context.  So, for your enjoyment (and because I never have anything interesting to blog about lately), the Quote Book:

Ryan: You owe me a baby!
Jenny: I don't owe you a baby.

Gabe: I did her.

Rich: It's really cold in my crotch.

Jenny: Wait.  What's something about your doodle?

Gabe: Do you like Who Whos?

Gabe: If mint is a weed, it's the best weed I've ever had.

Bryce: I still like a gaggle of peni.

Heidi: I didn't do it last night because I was wearing spacers!

Ryan: Does that say Canadian?

Ryan: Hey, Anthony!  What happened to your face?

Ryan: You know what my dad said to me the other day?  He wanted to name me Elmo.

Jaynee: Did you say buttskillet?

Jenny: Question mark.
Ashley: Answer mark.

Gabe: I thought you were an angel from my dreams.

Jayson: I didn't want to reach through Anthony's legs to grab the handle.
Ryan: Why not?  I do it all the time!

Jaynee: I'm pretty sure he's dating someone.
Gabe: Good because he was getting too close to me.

Jaynee: You're not a nice mom!  Who gives their babies noogies?

Jaynee:  I can't believe that mouthwash came out of my nose!

Jayson: 30% of all women could take advantage of me.

Jaynee:  Could you squeeze this 20 times for me?

Jaynee: I'll fluff your tree later.

Gabe: Why are you hitting on me like that?

Jenny: Don't brush his belly hair with that!

Jenny: No!  Don't stretch it out.  I'll just take it off.

Jayson (to Jenny): I will make you cry.
Jenny: I'll just massage myself.

Jaynee: This milk is...exquisite!

Jaynee: Man, I'm a lesbian.
Rich: Awww...You look cute.

Jaynee: But then all your wedding guests would have corn in their poop that night.

Jayson: Do you know what my tongue could do to your foot?

Sissy Pants Meets the Castle

It's been said that I'm a huge sissy (see #2).  For real.  If there is a chance that I will wet my pants from fear/break a bone/die/receive a head injury/need stitches/etc., I just don't do it.

Haunted houses fit into the "I'm not going because I'm a huge sissy" genre.  Earlier in my life, they were avoided for the "wet my pants from fear" category but after tonight, they go in the "head injury" category.

Husband, Jaynee, Ryan, Brandon (aka Bear Grylls, aka Brandon Full Bodied), Heidi and I went to Castle of Chaos.

As we stood in line, I was freaking my freak.  I was nauseous, sweaty, and super anxious.  Let's just say I AM NOT A FAN.

We finally got in and I was still unsure about going in.  I contemplated feigning illness and waiting in the car or pushing my husband and 4 other friends out of the way to run and hide in the PetSmart.  None of these things happened.  I went in.

The waiting was the worst part.  I was freaking myself out because I was just imagining all the people that could jump out from behind corners.  It was not fun.

It's much easier to not be scared when you have a husband to walk in front of you and hold your hand.  I made it through easily with only a minor head injury...yes, one of the characters hit me in the head with a blunt axe.  True story.  Ask Ryan, he was right behind me.

As we were leaving we noticed the chain saw guy.  What do we decide?  Slow clap.  Slow clap the chain saw guy.  Epic decision.  I advise everyone do it.

I'm pretty sure it made our day and chain saw guy's day.  He probably went home and told his wife about the epic kids who slow clapped him.

Slow claps...always a win.

Two Gingers, a Giant and a Pregnant Lady

Jaynee put Jenny and me in charge of finding dresses for Jenny, me, Kandace and Amy.  Here's a few things: 1) Kandace is about 6 feet tall 2) Amy will be 8 months pregnant 3) Jenny and I have red hair

I went shopping for about 5 hours on Saturday.  Finding a dress to fit all these specifications and then some is a difficult thing.  Finally, at Sears of all places ("Put on your Sunday best kids.  We're going to Sears!"), we found a dress.  It's an okay dress.  I think it looks like we're heading to a Ball put on by Harley Davidson but it works.  It will even work for pregnant Amy.  How do we know?  Oh, this is how:

Those are my jeans...rounded in to a pregnant-esq ball and shoved up the dress.

Why Have I Not Mentioned This Yet?

Remember how Jaynee and Ryan are getting married? (Which I totally called, btw.)

Well, Ryan asked me to be his Best (wo)Man.  Super stoked about that.  I've never been a best man before.  Mostly because I'm not a man but that's beside the point.  Best wedding, besides my own, of my life?  I think so!

How Things Have Changed

Last year at this time, I was blogging about how my students had stopped making each other and me cry (woot, woot!) for the last 5 months and how it was no wonder I didn't have a boyfriend.

Very different now...I'm freaking married...for 5 months already.  It blows my mind how much life can change within a year.

Maybe by this time next year I'll have a baby...hint, wink, seriously?

*Disclaimer: If Poop Disgusts You...DO NOT READ!

I'm really hoping this doesn't disgust anyone so much that they never come back to read my blog.

Let me set the stage for you.  I have a friend that is very regular or has IBS...I haven't decided yet.  He is always in the bathroom and stinking up the place.

Here's the email I received from him:

I'm on a first date with this girl from my ward. We go to Texas Roadhouse and I think everything's going okay. but I start driving us back to her house to get changed to go play volleyball.  The radio is off and in between our conversation my stomach rumbles and she heard it drop. All I could say is this isn't good, this isn't good at all.  She starts cracking up and couldn't stop laughing and she asks,  "Do you wanna stop?"  I tell her we don't have a choice. I stop at Walgreen's and I go poop for 20-30 min, not sure how long I was in there. I get back in the car and we go play volleyball. The end

I haven't talked to him since.  Do you think they had a second date?

Today Goes Under the Heading "Splendid"

Here are all the reasons why today was absolutely splendid:

  • My principal is working on hiring a replacement for Andrea and from the looks of it she's probably going to be young and on the same page as the rest of us.
  • The morning was beautiful.
  • I got princess parking both times I came home today.
  • We won one of our softball games (btw, this is big deal.  We've never won before.)
  • On the way home from my game, I didn't hit one red light.  Not a single one.  That turned the normal 25 minute drive into a 12 minute drive...freaking amazing!
  • My great friends Ryan and Jaynee got engaged.
  • I'm married to an amazing man...for the rest of forever!

The A Team is Breaking Up

Remember my awesome team...the A Team?  Well, we're partially breaking up at the end of the year.  Our A track teacher will be leaving to teach at the Edith Bowen Lab School on the Utah State campus.  It is a very awesome opportunity for her and we are so excited for her...but sooooo sad for us.

Our team has been amazing this year and now that our team leader is leaving...I'm scared...really scared.  What if we mess up our greatness?  What if we fall flat on our faces?  What if we can't make it without her?  Ugh.  We obviously won't know until next year comes but I'm going to spend the next 7 weeks obsessing about every little thing and probably developing a few ulcers.  Good thing I only have a 3 week summer this year...any more may kill me.

Cinco de Mayo 2011

Remember last year?  Jenny and I randomly deciding to put on sombreros and fake mustaches?  Yep, this year was better.  I wore my shirt that looked "most fiesta-like" according to Husband.

We had a little get-together at Jenny's.  It was seriously fun but I was seriously bad at taking pictures.  Here are the lovelies I did manage to take.

I miss living with this lovely lady.
Jenny's little bro, Jonny.  He's one cool 19 year old.
Doesn't that mustache look awesome on Andrea?
Ole! This is as Mexican as we got.

Bowl-A-Rama

We went bowling with Jaynee, Ryan, Brandon and Tiffany on Friday.  It was super and epic and really late.

Man...new bowling shoes...so good!

Team Awesome and Turd Ferguson
Tiffany, Brandon, me
2/3 of the trifecta
We're real cute.
Or we both ruin it.
But sometimes we get it right.

Our last game was played by each of us choosing a different way of bowling.  The scariest of all?  Bowling through someone else's legs...

That is the look of absolute terror on my face.

Saturday was spent cleaning and running errands.  Husband and I didn't see much of each other...tear, sad face emoticon.

Me: "I'll be in the closet."
Husband: "What are you doing in the closet?"
Me: "...Coming out...Bwa ha ha!"
Husband: "I was expecting that."

Ahhh...He knows me so well.  I think I'm funny...he humors me.

What if...

What If is a party game that my friends and I play a lot.

It's really easy and the only supplies you need are pieces of paper and pens or pencils.

You play by writing a question down that starts with "What if".  Then everyone folds up their what if question, puts them all in a pile in the middle or a hat or a bowl or whatever you have.  Then everyone chooses a piece of paper.  Everyone then answers the "what if..." question that is on the paper he or she just picked up.  Then once again put all the papers in the middle...here's where the game gets fun and silly and hilarious.

Everyone chooses one more question.  This time you should have a question and an answer.  One person starts by reading his/her "what if..." question.  The person that goes next reads his/her answer.  It gets pretty funny.

While playing with some friends recently I got the question:
"What if Anthony was a millionaire?"

I wrote:
"Then Ashley would quit her job and spend her days laying by the pool."

Those sound good together and it's honestly something I would probably do.

When we read the questions and answers we got this lovely combination:

"What if Mike wore a polka-dot bikini?"
"Then Ashley would quit her job and spend her days laying by the pool."

Ah, geez.  I didn't even know Mike before this day.  We all laughed so hard tears ran freely, snorts were uttered loudly and people tumbled out of chairs.

You should play this game at your next get-together.  It's really fun.

I'm Going to Punch You in the Crotch with My Foot

Sometimes I say things like this out loud.

Most of the time it makes people laugh.

Very rarely do I actually come through on my threats...just don't annoy me and you'll be fine.

Photo Booth

Like I said, we had a photo booth at the wedding.  Here are are few of my favorite people...photo booth style:

Lovely bridesmaids
6th grade teachers...We are AWESOME!
Those preciously adorable Duncan ladies...These are my mom's neighbors.  I met the oldest (the cute redhead in the red shirt) when she was a baby.  Oh, how they've all grown into beautiful ladies.  Want to know why I really really like them?  They read my blog.
9 people in a photo booth = bad idea.

Edit: Sorry Shamie!  You are for sure one of my favorite blog readers/cousins!

The guys

The Guys' wives...all our names start with As...Amanda, Amanda, Adelina, Ashley...Crazy pants!

Using picnik to collage those two pictures together...probably not the best idea but at least the wives are by the husbands now.

Photo booths are an excellent idea for a wedding...you should all do it and invite me to the wedding because I didn't get to enjoy this nearly as much as I wanted to.
