Baby H.--4 Months

We're a third of the way to one year...how the heck did that go so fast? 

Really, he does smile.  I just take these pictures when he's tired/hungry.

I went back to work on December 3.  It was very difficult to leave him every day but luckily I had my mom and husband to watch him those three weeks before Christmas break.

Baby made it into my bed many early mornings so we could spend more time together.

He's grabbing everything now.

He really likes to hold his own hands.

Baths are still a favorite time.  He smiles, splashes and squeals while in there but when you bring out the camera he freezes and watches it.  No smiles for the camera lately.

He still loves his bath and is almost too big for the baby tub.

A few days before Christmas, Husband finished the crib!  Woot!  Baby loves it even though he looks a little scared in the picture.

His crib is finally done and he's sleeping so well now.

 He has taken great naps since sleeping in the crib.

Two hour nap, thank you very much!

Baby was spoiled on Christmas.

He got a bouncer and likes it...for about 10 minutes.

He loves this crinkly book though

After his shots today he was a lot happier than his 2 month shots.

Told you he smiles.

He chews on his fingers all the time.

Baby has been working really hard to roll over and finally on the 23rd he rolled from his stomach to his back.  Though he can roll he still gets frustrated a lot and this is what tummy time usually ends up looking like:

 

Tummy time is getting a little better.  He'll stay like this for a few minutes instead of going right to crying.

 

We tried rice cereal for the first time...not a fan.

Bibs taste better than rice cereal.  He wouldn't even swallow, just held it in his mouth.

I don't get it.  I think it's stupid and a waste of time and resources.  That being said, all I know about Elf on a Shelf is what I see on Facebook and Pinterest.

And why is the elf such a little turd?  Can't he do nice things like wash the dishes or vacuum the floors while he's watching and reporting back to Santa?

I've never actually read the book.  For any of you out there who love your little elf and are now cursing me and getting ready to leave a scathing comment, don't.  I already know what you'll say and I've tucked it nicely into my brain.

Elf on a Shelf is just not for me.  But, if it does ever happen, I will use it to scare the h.e. double hockey sticks out of my kids.  And our elf would do the dishes occasionally.

Baby H.--3 Months

Baby H. was so excited to turn 3 months today that we couldn't get a picture that wasn't blurry.

Three months already!  Time flies with a baby.

It had been a long day by the time this picture was taken.  He was not at all in the mood to smile.

Baby H. is awake much more often now.  He really likes to refuse to nap then cry like a banshee when he's exhausted...that's a lot of fun.  But he does eventually fall asleep and ends up looking pretty darn cute and I soon forget the banshee screams.

Oh my heck!  That face.  BTW, he blew out of a diaper all over his car seat this day.  It was pretty exhausting for him, obviously.

He is full of smiles.  He's beginning to be ticklish and thisclose to laughing.

He has discovered that he can grab things.  He is always grabbing my sleeve or my shirt during diaper changes.

He is getting chubbier and chubbier and I love it.  He has recently developed a nice knee dimple.

 

Loves:

"Oooo" noises

Having his back patted

Being warm

Kicking without wearing a diaper 

His new to us play mat
Being wrapped up when he's going to sleep
The Christmas tree

Hates:

Getting out of the bath

Being tired, hungry or having a poopy diaper

2 Month Check Up

Baby H. had his two month check-up today.  Pretty sure momma's should not be allowed to take their babies to this appointment.  It's way too sad.

Pretty sure those shots hurt me a bit more than they hurt him.

Baby weighs 12 pounds 10 ounces (49%), is 23 inches (42%) and his head circumference is 15.9 inches (48%)

Courtney's 23rd

We celebrated Courtney's birthday today.  It was lots of fun to spend time with family and eat delicious food.  Happy birthday, Courtney!  We love you.

If someone tried to ruin your birthday, I'd ruin their life.

Mom made my grandpa hold Baby H.  Turns out Baby H. loves grandpa.  Look at that smile.

Baby Snoring is Pretty Cute

If there weren't laundry to be done and showers to be taken and sub plans to be written...I think I'd let Baby H sleep and snore on my chest all day.

Baby H.--2 Months

Baby H. is two months old today.  Can you believe it? 

 Baby H. is awake more often and is smiling all the time. 

He's getting baby chub rolls on his legs and his cheeks are taking over his face.  The picture doesn't show it, but he is growing a lot of hair.

He is a pretty happy baby but makes it known when he is hungry, tired or has a messy diaper.

He is beginning to track people, sounds and toys.  I have loved interacting with him and getting some feedback.

This whole 30 minute nap thing is not good for either of us.

I've got things that need to get done and you've got little baby dreams that need to be dreamed.

And while we're on the subject of sleep. . .what happened to 8 hours in a row?  2.5?  Bah!  What do you think you are. . .a baby?  Geez!

I Thought Yesterday Was Good

After sleeping 6 hours in a row yesterday, I thought I was in heaven.

But then Baby H. pulled out a sleeping win.

8 hours in a row.

Way to celebrate being 8 weeks old.  Lets keep it up!

Who has 2 thumbs and slept 6 hours in a row last night?

This happy baby.  

Let's hope it's not a fluke and he keeps it up.

Baby H.--1 Month

My baby is one month today.  The time has flown by. 

Mostly, Baby H. just sleeps.  The positions he ends up in are pretty awesome.

No matter how tight we swaddle him, he eventually ends up like this

But every once in a while, he's awake.
