Prenatal Massage

Cute Lil' Dev gave me a certificate for a prenatal massage.  I had my appointment today.  I think they should change the name to "What Heaven must feel like" because, hot dog!, I feel amazing.  I don't think I've ever felt this awesome in my life. 

Just all the pillows I was able to lay on were so comfortable.  I need to go to the massage supply store and pick me up some of those amazing pillows.  Heaven, I tell you.

I love you, prenatal massages and I will probably be seeing you again.

First Nursery Craft

I saw something like this on Pinterest (but the link is now broken) and loved it.

So I made my own version for Baby H's room.

I think the original is fabric but I had paper and I didn't want to leave the house.  I used the sewing machine to stitch around the outside of the giraffe.  If I could have figured out how to write well with the sewing machine I probably would have done something like the "hello" on the original but I super struggled.

I have a rhinoceros silhouette that I'd like to use too.  Maybe I'll practice my embroidery skills and see if I can come up with something cute to put on the rhino.

200 Days

That's right.  I've been pregnant for 200 days.  I can't even remember not being pregnant (though that's probably because of the pregnancy brain...I can barely remember yesterday).

80 more days til Baby H's due date.  For those of you in summer mode, and therefore unable to do math, that's less than 3 months.  Oh, my.  The time is flying by.  There will be a baby in this house before we know it.

Lets cross our fingers that everything gets done.

Productive is the Word of the Day

I was such a productivity champion today. 

I was up at 5:30 today (not really because I wanted to but because I needed to take Husband to work.).  I really thought I would take a nice long nap when I got home but was remarkably not tired.  I knew I had a lot of stuff to do today so I made a list...

• Clean kitchen
• Clean living room
• Clean bathrooms
• Clean Baby's room
• Take unwanted/unneeded stuff to DI
• Buy and wrap birthday presents
• Pack for camping trip
• Laundry
• Call about massage gift certificates (Thanks Dev and Husband), third trimester class, breasfeeding class and preregister for delivery
• Make car payment
• Vacuum

I had all of these things done by 1pm.  I am such a nerd and loved checking each item off the list. 

I feel super accomplished and my poor pregnant body feels super tired.

27 Weeks

I had my glucose test Friday.  I was expecting a horrible drink...I was imagining a thick, sugary, disgusting drink.  It was sugary but wasn't horrible...a lot like flat Sprite.

About 5 minutes after drinking it I started to feel sick though.  Horrible headache.  Baby H. going crazy.  Kinda nauseous.  Bleck.  

So far I haven't heard from the doctor...no news is good news.  I'm going to say I'm gestational diabetes free.

Also, here's a picture of how pregnant I was looking that day...Where did that belly come from?

Bedroom Decor

I've wanted to do one of those melted crayon art pieces for a long time...

...but I struggle.  I couldn't make it look nice.  I ruined a glue gun.  I hated it.

So, while Husband was out of town I decided to try a less linear project and just melted crayons all over a canvas. 

I started with a blow dryer...way too slow for me.  Bring on the heat gun.  It was so much faster and I only burned my finger once.

We'll have a grown-up, decorated bedroom one day even if it burns off all my finger prints.

Prizefighter Alien

I've said this before but newborn babies are ugly.  Now that I've got one of my own on the way, I am very worried that my unabashed proclamation of this fact is going to bite me in the butt...HARD. 

I'm sure I'll think Baby H. is the cutest baby ever born but in reality he will probably look just like all other newborn babies...swollen, prizefighter alien. 

I was at a baby shower a few weekends ago talking with another mommy-to-be.  We both agreed that new babies are ugly and they stay ugly until they are about two months old or so.  I was so relieved that I'm not the only person who feels this way.  We both agreed not to judge the other one if we don't send out baby announcements until our babies get a bit cuter.

That being said, don't expect any sort of official-comes-in-the-mail baby announcement until March...especially after putting my feelings about baby ugliness on the internet...twice.

Summertime!

Today was my last day of school.  

I'm relieved to be done.  I'm excited to sleep in.  I'm hopeful that my feet won't hurt for at least the next 6 weeks.  I'm stoked to get the baby's room finished up. 

But mostly, I'm grateful I had an amazing, supportive team and principal that helped me get through this year.

99 Days

That's right...it's 99 days until Baby H.'s due date.

Holy cow!  I'm so excited to meet this little guy!
