I love...
...how very friendly parents are during the second parent-teacher conference.
The first conference, all parents were a bit stand-offish, trying to decide how I was going to screw up their kid or how I was probably out to get their kid.
By now they've realized I am here to help their children and I love their children and I want the best for their children. Wow. Realizing this makes parents so much more fun to talk to. It's much less business (though we still get to the important stuff) and much more "thanks for being such a great teacher." Aww...shucks. You're making me blush.
But seriously, parents were the thing that terrified me the most before I began teaching. Now (most of them) are a piece of cake.
