Today is a special day for another reason...My blog turns 4!  Lets have a year in review just because I can.

May 2012

My lovely friend Jenny got engaged!

Pregnancy made me an amazing bowler.

Class baby shower!

Teacher appreciation and a giant dodge ball to the face.  Ouch

I was 25 weeks pregnant.

June 2012

I had my last day of school.  Ugh, that was a rough year!

I had 1 really productive day.

I had a prenatal massage and thought I had died and gone to heaven.

July 2012

I continued to be an awesome pregnant bowler.

I entered my 3rd trimester and began to melt.

I turned 30 weeks!

I felt like a decorating/painting superhero.

I had my 4th first day of school.

August 2012

I turned 35 weeks!

Baby H. was born!  And I became a very terrible blogger.

September 2012

Baby H. had some newborn pictures taken.  Oh, precious!

Baby H. turned 1 month.

October 2012

Baby H. slept for 8 hours in a row!

Baby H. turned 2 months.

November 2012

Baby H. made really funny faces.

Courtney turned 23!

Baby H. had is 2 month check up.  Sad times.

December 2012

Baby H. turned 4 months

And then 2013 happened and I became a horrible blogger...5 months, 6 months, 7 months, 8 months, 9 months.

I'll try to be better soon.

Why does no one every tell you how fast time goes with a baby?



This month we...

finally appreciated the Johnny Jump Up (pillows were added because he liked to smash his head into the door frame)

went on a swing for the first time

rolled everywhere!

finally got a little solid food in his belly (and all over my pants).

watched cars out of (very dirty) windows to pass the time.

enjoyed playing with non-toys more than real toys.

wore this shirt, made this face and made mommy laugh so hard.

loved standing.

pulled himself onto his knees.

learned to put himself to sleep, which always leads to sleeping on his face or sprawled out arms.

learned how to feed himself.

almost brushed his teeth correctly.

learned to pull himself up

are scooting like crazy.  He can get toys no matter where they are.  Under a crib and behind a toy basket?  Not a problem for Baby H.

tried a new binki.  He thought it was a chew toy.

Baby H.--7 Months

This past month flew by.  It seems like I just wrote the 6 month post. 

He was so excited as I took these pictures...

...and then I set him down and he was oh so not happy.

Baby started getting teeth a few weeks ago.  Aside from one horrible night, he hasn't seemed to be in too much pain.

With the new teeth came his tongue darting in and out of his mouth.  He especially likes to hold it to the left side.

I love how cute he looks when he sleeps.

I can finally say he is a sitter.  He can sit for long periods of time and seems to prefer that over laying on his back or stomach.

He loves to grab things, especially my face.  This is a pretty regular occurrence when I get home from work.

He continues to hate all solid food (so far we've tried rice cereal, squash, carrots and sweet potatoes).  One day I had given up on trying to get the food in his mouth and he took the spoon from me.  This was the result.

He did end up getting a lot more in his mouth than when I tried to feed him.

He still loves bath time and it's so much easier now that he can sit.

He's so much fun to play with.  He's silly and mobile and has a definite personality.

If he could only figure out that he needs to put his legs under himself, he'd be crawling soon.

Sometimes, he's a ninja.

Sometimes, he's just so freaking cute I can't stand it.

Oh, that smile.

This is his "I will get that cell phone and I will put it in my mouth and it will be awesome" face.

This is his "You're an aweful mommy for not letting me put your cell phone in my mouth and I'm going to start screaming now" face.

Baby H.--6 Months

 Umm...how has it already been half a year?!?!  For real, babies grow crazy fast.

I really wish I would have laid him next to the toy from the beginning so you could really see how much he's grown.

Seriously.  The first picture is from his first few weeks of life, the second is the day he turned 6 months.

Baby got sick for the first time this week.  So sad.  He did have two nights in a row that he slept 10+ hours though so I guess that's a positive.  Even though he's feeling yucky, he's still a pretty happy baby.

Look at those sad, sick eyes.  Still so happy though.

He's learned that he can roll to get places and has only hit his head on furniture once and only slightly gotten stuck under the couch.

All of this rolling is also leading to rolling in his sleep which leads to furious cries from his crib to help him get to his back again.  That's fun.  Wait...no, it's not.

He still loves his feet.  Diaper changes usually turn into 10 minutes of feet time.  He even tries to eat them in the tub (which means dipping his face in the water).  That usually doesn't last long though.

He's also finally figured out teethers and they are rocking his little baby world.

 He's sitting really well.  He can usually rebalance if he starts to fall over now.

He looks so proud.

 He's eating formula like a champ which makes me much less worried about the starving.

At his appointment he was 26 3/4 inches (62%), weighed  17 pounds 13 ounces (58%) and his head was  17.8 (80%) inches.

We started him on vegetables this week.  He had butternut squash at my mom's.  He didn't hate it but wasn't so sure about how to swallow.  I gave him sweet potatoes on the 27th and he again wasn't so sure.  These faces he pulled make it look like it was a lot worse than it was.

My lovely friend Claire has a gift for finding great videos.  Here's one I thought was great.

Baby H.--5 Months

I'm obsessed with this little face.

 Baby H. has gotten really happy lately.  He's always smiling and so much fun to be around.  Oh, gosh!  I love him so much!

 He is always sucking on his hands.  It's quite odd to hold him and not end up covered in slobber.

 He's beginning to be able to grab things with purpose now.

 He is now rolling over from his back to his stomach.  He hates it and forgets that he knows how to roll to his back so instead he just screams after about 6 seconds of being on his stomach.

He is also starting to sit up.  He can balance for a few seconds...not nearly long enough to get a good picture.

We had family pictures and they all turned out so flipping cute.

He is beginning to try to feed himself when he has a bottle.

Stop trying to be such a big kid, baby!

It is crazy to me how fast he is growing. He for sure my favorite baby named Tate.
