Baby H.--ONE Year!

This time last year Baby H. came into our lives.

If you missed the birth story, here it is.

I can't believe how much he's changed in the past year.  I also can't believe that's it has already been ONE year!

This month was a lot of fun.

We went to the zoo.  Baby H. didn't really know what was going on unless the animals were really close to us.

He loved the splash pad.  So much fun!

The polar bear was our favorite.  She was really easy to see and was very active when we were there.  She kept swimming back and forth from the rock to the window.  She was fun to watch.

The bird show as also really fun.

Baby had a couple really rough walking days.  He was constantly falling and hitting his head. This called for a day of snuggling and two binkis.

He loves having more than one binki.  He constantly trades them in and out of his mouth.

He's starting to climb and get into things much more than he used to.  He's pretty close to being able to climb onto our TV stand.

He has loved eating the past few days and really likes sharing.

He refuses to let me cut up any food.  Any time I try he just cries and won't eat it.  But give him the whole thing and he's a happy camper. That's a whole peach that he devoured. 

When he's really tired he wipes his oatmeal all over his face.

Learned to open the puffs.  When he saw me he ran away.

He also decided he only needs one nap a day.  This is what he looks like by about 6pm.

That scratch isn't nearly as bad as it looks.  He fell head first into the sidewalk.  Ouch.

This one nap thing has been pretty amazing though.  Now, he's usually in bed by 7pm and sleeps through the night without much problem.  And he's sleeping about 11.5 to 13 hours per night.  Awesome.

Pretty sure he loves me.

Kickball

Okay, this is probably going to shock most of you but...I'm posting...and it's not about my baby.

I've been playing in the Draper Rec Kickball League since early June.  We had an okay record through the season but we weren't really stellar.  We started tournament play yesterday.  We started at 6pm and if we won we kept playing until the 8pm championship game...guess what.  We won and won and won.  Yep, kickball champions. 

And because no post is complete without a picture or mention of Baby H., here's a picture of my trouper baby (he stayed for all 3 games without whining too much) and my husband, who made it just in time for the championship game.

Baby H.--11 Months

Oh my.  This kid.

These pictures are getting more and more difficult to get...such a wiggly baby...with a big ol' diaper butt.

He is eating more and more real food.  This kid loves tuna fish sandwiches.  Tuna, pickles, bread...what could be better?

He's started sleeping more on his stomach and he crosses his feet...melt my heart.

We went swimming for the first time this month.  In the pool with a swimming suit on he was a little unsure...naked in my mom's backyard in a baby pool?  Just a freezing bath tub.  It was awesome.  Though his face doesn't really show how much he liked it.

Large floatation devices are obviously used for chewing not floating.

He looked so cute while sleeping.

He also sometimes looked really creepy.

He's asleep...with his eyes open.  Creep.

He's starting to master page turning...it's difficult, people.

He celebrated the 4th of July like a true American...lounging, eating and wearing patriotic clothes.

He's becoming more and more mobile. He learned to go up stairs in about 3 tries at my mom's house.

We went to J Dawgs one night for date night and Husband decided giving Baby H sauerkraut was a good idea...Baby H. agreed.

*one day when blogger lets me add videos from my phone again I will put a video of him eating the sauerkraut.  Until then you have to believe that's what he's eating in this photo.

Baby has 5 teeth now and he likes to chew on just about everything.  He's even taken chunks out of the rind of watermelon.

We tried swimming a few more times and by the 4th try he really liked it even though he was exhausted and hungry.

What a good grandma...getting in the pool with her clothes on just to make Baby happy.

Baby H. is definitly a walker.  He walks everywhere.  The only time he crawls now is to get to a surface that will help him stand up.  He still hasn't figured out how to stand up without the help of something but I'm sure it's coming soon.  He's also started real crawling occasionally.  Oh, baby...growing so fast!

Baby H. tried lots of new yummy food.  Here are a few of his favorites.

Fiv Star BBQ in Orem.  Oh, goodness.  If I lived in Utah County my waistline and bank account would be in big trouble. *Baby H. didn't actually eat the sandwich.

Strawberries: also great for making a huge mess on all exposed body parts.

I also have lots of videos but am unable to upload them...ugh.  You're all missing out.  My baby is pretty stinking cute.

Baby H.--10 Months

I'm getting okay with having pictures that are little blurry.  I'm just glad he sat still for a few seconds.

Also, pants are optional right now.  At least he's wearing a diaper.

Baby has learned so much this month.  He is getting much better at pulling himself up and can do so on almost anything.  He also learned to push himself into a sitting position by getting up onto his hands and knees then pushing himself back onto his bottom.

Baby started the month by learning to stand really well on his own.

He can even stand on the grass.  In his mind it's probably a lot better than letting the yucky grass touch his legs.

 He has also started to get into everything.  Isn't he a bit too young to be doing this?

So much difference in 11 days!

He is also army crawling really quickly.

Maybe one day he'll figure out real crawling.

One of his new favorite spots is behind the curtain.

This month we went to a drag race.

The headphones made him so funny.  He was silent and very serious every time we put them on him but in between races we would take them off and he would light up and start jabbering.  It was like he was amazed that he was able to hear again.

His new obsessions are doors and door stops.

This month has also brought out his opinionated side.  He only want to do things when and how he wants them done.  He screams and throws a fit when I try to change his diaper.  One day, I was changing him and he was being perfectly lovely then when I got the diaper off he started screaming like he was terribly hurt.  I stood him up (without putting on a new diaper) and this is the result:

Little stink peed all over my leg!  And he was fine, just screaming because he can.

How cute is this little?

Oh. My. Goodness.  I could eat him up!
