Sentences and Hot Dogs

We ended up having a 10 minutes conversation about good writing during math today.

We talked about compound sentences (you know compound sentences..."I went to dinner last night and then I went to a movie and I bought some shoes at Target.").

I said, "Compound sentences are hooked together with a. . ."

D. screams, "A HOT DOG!!!"

Yes, hot dogs are what keep our sentences together.

Oh, how I love silly 6th graders.
